This could be a good time to visit a Nogales dentist

April 1, 2020 editor’s note: non-essential businesses in Nogales, Mexico have been closed to help prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus. This includes restaurants and stores where people can congregate in groups. However, essential businesses such as dentist offices, pharmacies and medical care providers are still open. Also, this week the Mexican customs service announced the closure of the Morley Avenue pedestrian gate in downtown Nogales.

Last week, the White House coronavirus task force issued two orders to restrict “non-essential” travel from the countries of Canada and Mexico.

Those orders were not reciprocal. And to date, Mexico has not announced any travel restrictions.

In other words, Americans can still visit Mexico. And while it would not be advisable to travel farther into Mexico at this time, Sonora’s border towns are open for business.

And this might be a good time to visit cities like Nogales, for several reasons.

The nearly vacant, wide-open spaces in the tourism zones make it easier to practice social distancing. Nogales dentists and doctors have protective equipment to help prevent the spread of pathogens. Pharmacies are open so you can stock up on discount medications. And lines to cross back into Arizona are short to non-existent, making it easier and safer to practice social distancing.

So, if you think you need (or may need) dental work, considering coronavirus restrictions on dentist offices in the U.S. now may be the time to get any needed dental work.

And, if you are concerned about the restrictions imposed on Canada and Mexico that only allow medical travel and a few other exemptions, Nogales Dental Advanced has a solution – they will give you a medical prescription to demonstrate that you were in Nogales for dental care. Whether you decide to stay at home or travel to the border, remember to be safe by constantly washing and sanitizing your hands, avoiding personal contact and practicing social spacing.
